GIRL power is back in focus as members of the biggest British girl bands from the last 30 years squeeze together for a snap.
Spice Girl Mel C was joined by Little Mix’s Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Girls Aloud’s Nicola Roberts, All Saints’ Shaznay Lewis and Sugababe Keisha Buchanan at Apple Music’s Women’s History Month event.
Combined, they have sold more than 230million records.
Nicola later wrote online: “I’m still pinching myself.
“Waking up, my heart feels so full after hearing all our shared experiences of being the women who make up the UK’s biggest girl bands of the past 30 years.
“There’s only so many of us that can relate to each other’s journey so being in a room with four at once and talking about the highs and lows was everything.
“It was so honest and raw I left feeling weirdly healed and heard… and inspired.”
Singer and songwriter Nicola shot to fame in 2002, when she starred on Popstars: The Rivals, aged just 16.
She became part of the winning band with Kimberley Walsh, Cheryl Tweedy, Nadine Coyle, and Sarah Harding, and were given the title Girls Aloud.
Girls Aloud’s debut single Sound of the Underground topped the charts on their way to 20 consecutive top ten singles and two number one albums.
The band is now set for a big comeback, with the pop superstars secretly reuniting at a North London studio to shoot the music video for their first single in 11 years.
