JESY Nelson has scrapped plans for her third single release after a rocky solo career since quitting Little Mix.
The 32-year-old’s latest release Bad Thing failed to enter the UK Top 100 chart when it dropped back in April.
Now it’s been reported Jesy is scrambling to “find her sound”, resulting in chaos in her camp after she pulled the plug on planned next single Cried Out.
An insider said: “Jesy has been listening to her critics. She is desperate to give fans something epic and is doing all she can to find her authentic sound, but the sudden change-up has unsettled her camp.”
They added to the Mirror: “Last year, most of her debut album was believed to be done – even the artwork was in place – but Jesy has since done a huge U-turn and everything is being reworked. It’s all a bit of a mess.”
And it seems fans might have to wait even longer for new music from Jesy after she announced plans to take a pause and travel the world.
In a statement posted on Instagram, she wrote: “Hey guys! So for a long time I’ve really wanted to go travelling but never had the time to do it.
“I’ve got some really exciting things coming up with work and my music, but until then I’m gonna take the summer off to travel the world.
“I’m going to be off my social media for a while, I love you all so much and I’ll see you when I’m back.”
Jesy has faced a number of setbacks since she sensationally quit Little Mix in December 2020.
Her debut solo offering Boyz, featuring rapper Nicki Minaj, peaked at number four on the UK Top 10 but the release was shrouded in controversy.
At the time Jesy was caught up in allegations of “blackfishing”– a term used when a white person uses black culture and aesthetics for their own gain.
