SHE is taking the rest of the year away from music to go travelling.

But Jesy Nelson could return to showbiz with a thud if she takes up her latest job offer.

I can reveal the former Little Mix singer has been approached by Dancing On Ice bosses, who are desperate to sign her to appear in the ITV skating show.

A source said: “Dancing On Ice would love to sign Jesy to appear on the next series.

“She has chosen to take some time out from music and has the rest of the year off, meaning she could come back with a bang in January when the next series kicks off.

“ITV have approached Jesy to see if she would be interested. They have made it clear she is firmly at the top of their wish list and they’d do anything to make it happen.

“She is an incredibly talented performer and would have a great presence on the ice.

“The show’s bosses hope the break she is on at the moment will give her time to think about taking part, as ITV think she would be brilliant.”

Jesy reached No4 in the charts with her debut solo single Boyz in 2021.

She then split from her record label, and follow-up single Bad Thing failed to strike a chord with music fans.

So perhaps some time away now to figure out what she wants, before returning on the ice, is a good idea.

In a message to her fans on Instagram on Friday, Jesy wrote: “Hey guys! So for a long time I’ve really wanted to go travelling but never had the time to do it.

“I’ve got some really exciting things coming up with work and my music, but until then I’m gonna take the summer off to travel the world.

“I’m going to be off my social media, I love you all so much and I’ll see you when I’m back.”

Whether it is in a sequin leotard and ice skates, we will have to wait and see.

MNEK to Corry on with Joel

MNEK has been writing music with Joel Corry again following the success of their 2020 No1 single Head & Heart.

The singer told me: “We have done a couple of things since Head & Heart where I’ve been more on the writing side and helping to finish the records. I love Joel. He’s one of the most pleasant people to work with.”

But Mnek will soon be turning his focus back to his solo tunes, once he has finished writing and producing for girl group FLO’s debut record.

He said: “It’s been six years since my last album. I want it to be great, I don’t want it to flop.

“That’s not about commercial success, it’s more about sonic success and everything about it, I want it to be good.

“I’m helping Flo finish their album and starting businesses and labels and stuff. I want to get that in a good place then get ready for the album.”

BOYLEING POINT: IS BRAD EVER GOING TO AGE?

HE’S long been the coolest guy in Hollywood but Brad Pitt has surpassed even his own high standards on his latest campaign.

The handsome Fight Club star was spotted filming a new coffee ad on a France vineyard looking as fresh-faced as in his prime– and leading to a lustful outpouring among fans.

And it’s hard to blame them, which got me thinking.

Brad’s been “in the chair” as the world’s handsome-man-in-chief for decades.

If you’re looking for a conversational comparison with a good-looking geezer, inevitably Brad’s name pops up first.

On top of that, blokes around the world would love to share a beer with him.

I gather most women would like to share something else. In this white shirt and shades and sporting his best tidy/messy hairstyle at the weekend, Brad carried himself with that air we’re all desperate to emulate.

And he did it all while still in a ludicrously messy divorce dispute with ex-wife Angelina Jolie over their £150million French wine estate.

While most of us feel endlessly stressed – and it shows – by the trials life throws at us, Brad manages to look sharper than ever despite his own ongoing struggles.

If he ever releases a self-help book, I’m buying.

Blur in race to be fit for Wembley

BLUR’s Wembley Stadium comeback shows have been thrown into uncertainty after drummer Dave Rowntree suffered a knee injury.

The Britpop group are due to headline there on Saturday and Sunday, and have pulled out of France’s Festival Beauregard on Thursday in a bid to give him time to recover.

A post on the festival’s Facebook page said: “The bad news has just fallen, Blur will not be able to perform their concert in Beauregard. Dave Rowntree was injured this weekend and must rest for future shows.”

Royal Blood stepped in for the Normandy event but the London shows are up in the air.

Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave’s Wembley dates are due to be their first major UK performances since 2015 and would mark their debut at the stadium.

MATTY: ILL LEWIS CHECKED UP ON ME

MATTY Healy has revealed Lewis Capaldi was so worried about him following his split from Taylor Swift that he phoned to check he was OK.

And the call came on the day Lewis cancelled his tour due to his mental health struggles.

The Scots singer and The 1975 frontman are pals after collaborating on music in lock-down.

Matty spoke of their closeness during his band’s headline gig in Finsbury Park, North London, on Sunday.

He said: “I want to send my sincerest thoughts to Lewis Capaldi, who is a good friend of mine, who on the day when he had to cancel his tour checked in on me.”

Matty said he would suffer a similar fate to Lewis, who has struggled with anxiety and Tourette’s syndrome, if it wasn’t for his bandmates.

He added: “It’s also a reflection on how hard being a solo artist is, as I would not be doing this show if I didn’t have these amazing men and women behind me.”

Matty – whose actor dad Tim joined him on stage while his mum, TV host Denise Welch, was in the crowd – put on a strange performance which included eating raw meat and doing press-ups.

He told the crowd: “The 1975 isn’t a dry band, there’s a lot of irony in it. I was always trying stuff and some stuff I got right and some wrong.

“There’s probably a couple of songs I’d take back if I had the choice.

“I’m only doing this because I want to make you guys laugh and feel good because that’s what my favourite art does and that’s all I’m trying to do and I get a bit excited.”

Bev eyes scripts for move into TV roles

SHE recently celebrated her 50th birthday but Beverley Knight has no plans to slow down any time soon – as she is making a bid to become a TV actress.

The singer has recently been busy treading the boards in the musical Sylvia, where she starred as Emmeline Pankhurst, –the political activist who helped women win the right to vote here.

Beverley won Best Supporting Actress at the Olivier Awards in April for the role, which she played at London’s Old Vic theatre, and will be hoping for more success when she portrays Deloris Van Cartier in Sister Act The Musical next year.

But I can reveal that the Shoulda Woulda Coulda singer has been offered TV roles following her success on stage.

In an exclusive interview, she said: “I’m looking at a lot of scripts for TV.”

Beverley will also drop her ninth solo album, The Fifth Chapter, at the end of September.

She said: “It’s a celebration of life and reaching my half century.

“I had some superstar help in terms of writing it in Diane Warren. It’s finished, it’s good to go, I’m so bloody excited.”

CARDI’S IN STYLE

Cardi B stuns in a black dress with gold trim at Paris Fashion Week[/caption]

OOH la la! Cardi B wows at Paris Fashion Week after her very public spat with hubby Offset.

The singer wore this sleek black dress with gold trim to Schiaparelli’s show as the glamorous style event kicked off yesterday.

US rapper Offset sparked a row last week after he claimed in an Instagram post that Cardi had cheated on him.

She was quick to deny the allegation.

Bodak Yellow rapper Cardi, who got back with Offset in 2018 after he admitted being unfaithful, hit back in song: “You can’t accuse me of all the things you know that you are guilty of. Sing it with me, y’all!

“And I see that it is easy for you to blame everything on me. Yes, honey!”

She went on to say that a “regular” guy would “tell the world” if he got with her – and that anyone “in the industry” would “tell too”.

And in a message to the father of her two kids, she told him to “stop acting stupid”.

Cardi certainly didn’t hold back when she fashioned this response.

MARGOT’S BARBIE WHIRL

Margot Robbie stunned in a bright pink outfit at a press conference in South Korea[/caption]

FILMING for the Barbie movie caused a shortage of pink paint – and I imagine there won’t be much pink fabric left either by the time Margot Robbie is finished promoting the film.

She wore yet another fuschia outfit, this time covered in diamonds, to a press conference in South Korea.

The film isn’t out for another two and a half weeks, but Margot, right, has been busy flogging it around the world in a whirl of appearances.

She and co-star Ryan Gosling’s promo trail will bring them to the UK next week for the premiere in London’s Leicester Square.

It will be released on the same day as Oppenheimer, Christopher Nolan’s epic drama about the scientist who helped develop the atomic bomb.

At least we know the cast of that serious drama won’t be fighting Margot for pink dresses.
